I am trying to show, in this picture of Pendlemist Tatanka who went to Italy, the shape that Siamese/Oriental ears should be for correct balance the head. Ears with a large ‘bottom flap’ are not correct . The Standard of Points asks for ears which are wide at the base.

Here, at the age of about 8 months, was the profile of Pendlemist The Shogun. Breeders should still aim for this shape, even though it has been voiced by some as being incorrect. This shape signifies the type of head which will lengthen with maturity.

Rossastro, Cream Oriental son of Kiri, now an adult in his lovely home near Fishguard, Pembs. He, like many of the Pendlemist cats, was maturing slowly but with good balance and a lovely temperament. A show career is not everything.

The beach at Aberavon where I lived until my house move in the Summer of 2010.

An old photo of Batty (Pendelfin) taken whilst he was in quarantine after his stay in Denmark. The cattery girls soon made him one of their favourites and his heavy waistline shows just how generous they were with his food.

Here is a picture of Batty’s Bluepoint son Ch Pendlemist Gallant Knight, who is the grandsire of my current studboy, Fife Champion Pendlemist Hi Grissom.

The future of the breeds combined? The bi-colour Orientals are making their presence felt in European shows and have outstanding type in the main. This picture is of a Sealpoint with white as developed in America in the early 1990’s. There is already controversy here in the UK as to what influence these new colour varieties will have on our traditional Siamese. The breed is declining in numbers every year and established breeders need to give newcomers a chance. UK shows are filled with typy Neuters with only one or two adults in classes for Entires and very small numbers of kittens.

This picture will no doubt raise either a love or hate reaction. This ticked tabby and white Oriental was bred in France and shows the extreme in type compared with the American type to the left. The quest to improve has to have its boundaries and no doubt this kitten looked much different on maturity raising the latest buzz words of - ------stunning ---- to die for !!! The standard of points are still there for guidance but lets hope our ears stay wide at the base and we keep our broad skulls.

My Bluepoint female Pendlemist Jorja Foxx.
